Bit-Torrent has become a successful p2p (peer to peer) technology though surrounded by much controversy with its use (legal or illegal purposes), the bit torrent protocol has literally allowed large file distributions ranging from gigabytes to terabytes between multiple computers without sacrificing too much bandwidth.
